Integrated Clinical Trial Services (ICTS) has announced that it has completed its contracted recruitment goal of patients for participation in a nationwide Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (Dry AMD) study, the MIRA-1 trial performed by OccuLogix, Inc.

Integrated Clinical Trial Services (ICTS) has announced that it has completed its contracted recruitment goal of patients for participation in a nationwide Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (Dry AMD) study, the MIRA-1 trial performed by OccuLogix, Inc. The MIRA-1, Multicenter Investigation of Rheopheresis®, study is testing the effects of the Rheofilter® MDF system, designed to compare Rheopheresis® treatment against a placebo treatment. Rheopheresis® is a process that filters large particles such as LDL cholesterol, fibrinogen, IgM, IgA, Von Willenbrandt Factor and other specific immunoglobulins from the blood. ICTS conducted the patient recruitment process at various locations in the United States including: Southern Pines, NC; Beverly Hills, CA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Fort Myers, FL; and Miami, FL.
