Ryan Healy started The Health Blog as a way to share his personal interest in health with others. He posts about two to four new health articles every week.

What's interesting is that Ryan's blog was originally a personal blog with a variety of articles ranging from book reviews to political commentaries. But when Ryan realized his "shotgun approach" to blogging wasn't gaining him any loyal readers, he decided to pick a focus. That focus was health.

Since writing exclusively about health issues since September of 2004, Ryan has seen his readership grow substantially. It's still not much relative to some of the more popular blogs, but it's a very stable readership.

Some of the topics The Health Blog addresses include: fast food nutrition facts, the effects of certain foods, the dangers of prescription drugs, how to lose weight, diet guidelines, and more.

Just recently The Health Blog received its first Trackback, which means another blogger took the time to reference a Health Blog article and then pinged the site through a Trackback link.

Ryan expects that his readership will continue to rise, not only due to his growing connections with other bloggers, but also due to Baby Boomers who are increasingly turning to online sources for health information.
