Direct EDI Updates Web-EDI for the Little Guy

Internet EDI provider Direct EDI is introducing two new features to assist small and medium sized business keep up with the ever increasing demands of doing business in todays marketplace. Direct EDIs improvements include enhanced document management features and expanded label printing options.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 1, 2005 -- Direct EDI Inc. has added E-Z Label Printing and Direct EDI Help to the Direct EDI Web-Based EDI System. More and more retailers are requiring that all vendors create Advanced Ship Notices for all shipments. Direct EDI is introducing new features to help users manage these often complicated documents and print the required UCC 128 shipping label.

Direct EDI Help is a comprehensive library of the features and functions available to the Direct EDI user. Help files provide a plethora of information on how to create, search, edit, and manage all of the EDI documents required for doing business in todays retail market. Direct EDI Help is available from every page and designed to make even the most novice users experts at managing EDI documents. Even the complex ASN document can be mastered quickly using Direct EDI Help.

Once an ASN is created, vendors must attach the matching UCC 128 shipping label to the cartons or pallets. E-Z Label printing offers an inexpensive method of printing labels that does not require any special equipment or expensive software. E-Z Label Printing automatically generates the correct UCC 128 labels for the user to download right from the Direct EDI Web Interface. The E-Z Label files are in PDF format and can be viewed using Adobes free software and printed on almost any printer. Steve Slavutskiy, Director of Product Development at Direct EDI states, The market demand for a better way to print shipping labels was overwhelming. We feel that E-Z Label Printing and Direct EDI Help are congruent with our commitment to provide the most user-friendly EDI system available." Direct EDI still offers free data files and label printing at Direct EDIs Central Office for larger operations, but now smaller users have a solution that is tailored specifically for their needs.

These two new functionalities are part of a continual effort to improve the Direct EDI Web-based system for all users large and small. The retail industry boasts some of the largest most complex supply chains in the world. Industry leaders are always pushing for innovative solutions to facilitate electronic communication to all of their trading partners. Direct EDI continues to develop cutting edge, practical solutions for the common user.
