Civil Air Patrol's Woodfield Composite Squadron Gains First Responders

Cadets and Senior Members gain Certification after First Reponder training.

(PRWEB) March 2, 2005 -- Several members of the Woodfield Composite Squadron in Schaumburg Illinois passed the State of Illinois certification tests to be recognized as First Responders. Two cadets and two senior members attended training classes alongside several members of the public at an event hosted by the Melrose Park ESDA. A special thanks goes out to Chief Schwartz for administering the practical exams after providing intense training.

The Woodfield Squadron participants were 2nd LT Cynthia Wojtal, Cadet Jacek Muka, Cadet Steve Greiman, and 2 LT Andy Seidler. These members are now better prepared to be the first personnel to arrive at an emergency such as those the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center might assign CAP.

The Woodfield Composite Squadron has been in operation since 1992 and is based out of suburban Chicagos Schaumburg Regional Airport.

Civil Air Patrol, the official Air Force Auxiliary, is a nonprofit organization performing more than 85 percent of inland search and rescue missions in the continental U.S. as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center. Our volunteers take a leading role in aerospace education around our community and serve as mentors to America's youth through CAP cadet programs.
