Oro Azul Tequilla has been known for years in select circles as one of the finest tequilas, and its reputation as Mexicos Blue Gold" precedes it.
Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) March 4, 2005 -- New Line Media Solutions is pleased to announce the selection of Oro Azul Tequila for its innovative, educational television series, Worlds Best. The company will be featured in a segment on Worlds Best Premium Tequila" in the Collection Series.
Oro Azul Tequila has won many awards for its three types: Anejo is the third favorite in all of Mexico, and a gold medal winner from both the Beverage Testing Institute and La Academia del Tequila, A.C. Blanco was a silver medal winner. The Reposado was rated the best in category by the Beverage Tasting Institute, scoring 93 points and winning a gold medal. Oro Azul Tequilla has been known for years in select circles as one of the finest tequilas, and its reputation as Mexicos Blue Gold" precedes it. Reposado tequila (in a famed blue bottle) is favored for its balanced and delicious flavor, a mingling of pickling spice and sweet, creamy nougat aromas. The liquor is carefully rested for over 6 months. It has a deep old gold color, and offers a dryish medium-bodied palate with creamy caramel, faint brown spices and ripe tropical citrus fruit, with just a hint of pepper.
Oro Azul Tequila is imported by Barrel Select Importers and produced by Agave Tequilana Productores (AT) of Jalisco, Mexico on a 3000-acre estate owned and operated by the Lopez Garibay family, which has been in the tequila business for over 100 years. The small distillery, located near the town of Jesus Maria, is widely considered the most ideal for production of blue agave, because of ideal weather conditions: warm weather during the day and cool nights. This valuable soil is clay-based with a high ferrous oxide content, and exclusively produces 100% blue agave. Legitimate tequila is only made in the State of Jalisco and the surrounding regions as designated by the Mexican governing agent.
Tequila, the undisputed national drink of Mexico, is made from the heart of a blue agave, a member of the lily family. Blue agave takes eight to 12 years to reach maturity, at which point it is up to eight feet tall and up to 12 feet in diameter. The plants have a lifespan of five to 15 years. The harvesters strip the agave of its leaves, getting to the heart known as the pina. Once stripped, the pinas are trucked to the distillery, baked in stone ovens, shredded and crushed. The resulting product (known as aguamiel) is pumped into fermentation tanks and combined with sugar and yeast and double distilled. Final processing accomplishes filtration, and the aging takes place in oak barrels. Tequila is increasingly being enjoyed straight or on the rocks and could also be mixed with other kinds of beverages. Of course its most common use is in margaritas.
