Reggie JacksonÂ?s American Classics Will Feature Classic Cars from Â?Mr. OctoberÂ?sÂ? Extensive Collection

On the heels of its successful Principal Family Fun Fest tour, Entertainment & Sports International (ESI) is pleased to announce an agreement with “Mr. October”, Reggie Jackson, to produce another national tour of minor league baseball teams to be titled, Reggie Jackson’s American Classics.

Slated for April of 2006, the tour will visit over 50 minor league teams from coast to coast and will feature ten culturally significant classic American cars like the Mustang, Corvette or GTO, taken from Reggie Jackson’s extensive collection, one of the finest in the world. Current plans for the tour are to feature additional interactive attractions including an arcade style “sit-in” video game racing trailer, a baseball/auto museum, a “Rascal Racer” mini-car race track for kids and more. The event will be set up outside the stadium for several hours before the game and offered free to fans that come to the game.

ESI’s Principal Family Fun Fest is the world’s most extensive traveling baseball fan festival. Launched in 2004, the tour visited 53 minor league teams and two All-Star games and was visited by over 250,000 fans. The Principal Financial Group is the property’s title sponsor through 2006 leading a group of sponsors that also includes Microsoft Xbox, Turner South, Louisville Slugger, Topps Trading Cards and the Fox All Access syndicated radio program.

Minor league baseball teams loved the 2004 event and ESI was able to schedule 56 teams for the 2005 tour in just three weeks. The Principal Family Fun Fest includes over 20 midway attractions including batting and pitching cages, bungee runs, giant slide, T-Ball stadium and other attractions plus the Microsoft Xbox Home Run Derby arcade trailer and the Baseball Museum which feature memorabilia from luminaries like Joe DiMaggio, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and others, before they went on to greatness in “The Show.” Also added for 2005 is the Principal 401-K Challenge which will give one fan a chance to win $5,000.

“Response was so strong to our Principal Family Fun Fest tour”, said ESI co-president Bert Gould, “we felt we should create another property to entertain fans. We talked with teams about an event that focused on classic cars and they loved the idea. We feel extremely fortunate to have a partnership with the legendary Hall-of-Famer Reggie Jackson and are planning an exciting and unprecedented touring event for 2006.”

Minor League Baseball is enjoying its greatest success in history. In 2004, over 40 million fans attended games by affiliated minor league teams, and millions more saw games by independent teams. Fans appreciate the entertainment value of minor league ball which allows a family of four to enjoy a professional baseball game including tickets, parking and snacks for under $40, or about the cost of one major league ticket.

In addition, minor league parks offer a safe environment for kids, low prices and clean restrooms, making for a fun and enjoyable family experience.

ESI is currently seeking marketing partners and sponsors for the Reggie Jackson American Classics tour. “Minor league baseball offers a powerful grass roots marketing opportunity,” said ESI co-president Joe Owens who is leading the sponsorship discussions. “Local market initiatives, retail tie-ins, hospitality opportunities at the park and more make ESI’s minor league baseball tours a hit with marketers. And our association with Hall-of-Famer Reggie Jackson will give the tour a unique national profile as well.”

ESI enjoys a strong relationship with minor league teams and its sponsors which allows it to make the most of its tours and sponsorship programs. Chris Riedel King of the Principal Financial Group put it this way, “It’s been a joy working with ESI on the Principal Family Fun Fest. They are experienced marketers, they understand what a company needs to deem a sponsorship a ‘success,’ they know how to add value to a sponsorship, they put together an experienced, fan-friendly crew, and they consistently over-deliver on promises.”

Entertainment & Sports International is a partnership of two experienced marketing executives. From offices in New York and West Palm Beach the company develops and produces sports and entertainment broadcast and touring properties including the Principal Family Fun Fest, Reggie Jackson’s American Classics, and the Kings of the Kitchen.
