Award-winning Artist to Spend his Birthday with Ducks

Recent winner of the Ohio wetland habitat stamp design contest, conducted by the Ohio Division of Wildlife, Gregory Clair has made plans to spend his birthday with the newly formed Fallen Timbers Chapter of Ducks Unlimited for their inaugural membership banquet.

Maumee, OH (PRWEB) March 13, 2005 -- Recent winner of the Ohio wetland habitat stamp design contest, conducted by the Ohio Division of Wildlife, Gregory Clair has made plans to spend his birthday with the newly formed Fallen Timbers Chapter of Ducks Unlimited for their inaugural membership banquet. "Mr. Clair's love for the outdoors really comes through in his paintings, and we are honored to have him spend his birthday with us raising money and local awareness for conservation," says David M Cunningham, Chairperson of the Fallen Timbers Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

Cunningham announced that residents interested in participating in a practical conservation program will be given an opportunity to do so this Spring. "When it comes to conservation, " said Cunningham, "there are a lot of people out there with good intentions who would really like to make a positive difference in helping wildlife, but who just don't know how to go about it." Cunningham added that he volunteers annually to help raise funds for Ducks Unlimited because of the organization's impressive habitat track record.

Since 1937, the private, nonprofit organization has constructed more than 36, 000 wetland conservation projects throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico. These projects now provide 10 million acres of habitat for some 900 wildlife species, including waterfowl and endangered species like the Lake Erie water snake and the bald eagle.

"Our committee will soon be calling on conservation-minded individuals within the community to help support our Ducks Unlimited fundraising banquet scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the Maumee Eagles, 827 Illinois Avenue, Maumee, OH.," says Cunningham. We're going to have a lot of fine food, good prizes and plenty of fun for everyone. Those who attend can rest assured the dollars we raise are going to a very good cause."
