Garelick Farms celebrates the launch of its latest dreamy dairy product, Over the Moon milk, with a community-based Over the Moon Dream Big Contest offering a grand prize of $25,000 in cash. The contest, the largest in Garelick Farms history, seeks an inspirational community dream to fund.

The Over the Moon Dream Big $25,000 Grand Prize will be awarded for the dream that shows the most creative way to make a positive impact on the lives of community members there. The contest runs from February 12, 2005 through April 30, 2005. The grand prizewinner will be announced on June 1, 2005.

“This January, when we launched Over the Moon milk, we knew we had a very special product. Consumers were telling us that this milk is a dream come true with the rich, creamy taste they love - but not the fat they want to avoid,” stated Matt Samson, Marketing Director, Garelick Farms. “We quickly realized that we should celebrate this product by making a dream come true. We know there are lots of great community dreams out there from building new playgrounds to supporting arts and cultural programming to funding local food banks and shelters. We want our consumers to tell us their inspirational dreams and how they will make a difference in their communities. We’re very excited to make one of those dreams come true.”

The Over the Moon Dream Big Contest invites contestants to submit an essay, song, video, poster or other creative expression of how they would spend $25,000 to make their community a better place. Contestants may enter one of three ways: online at; by mailing their entry to the Over the Moon Milk Contest Center, 86 Main Street, Auburn, Maine 04210; or in person at any Over the Moon Dream Tour event. Call for entries at tour events will consist of videotaping 3-5 minute “Over the Moon Dream Big” speeches that describes the dream and how it will make a difference.

In addition to the call for entries, the Over the Moon Dream Tour features foster family recruitment with New England departments of social service and recruitment agencies, milk mustache dream photos, coloring contests, milk mustache poster give-aways and sampling of cookies and Over the Moon milk.
