The Project Group Offers ResourceLink, A New Resource Data Integration Module for Microsoft Project Server
Microsoft EPM Add-In Enables Customers to Easily and Quickly Import Resource Data into Microsoft Project Server
Munich, Germany (PRWEB) March 6, 2005 -- The Project Group (TPG), one of the premier providers of add-in products and consulting services for Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) in the German speaking part of Europe, today presented ResourceLink, the companys new data integration module. The Project Group is known for its unique and innovative EPM add-ins, and this product is no exception. ResourceLink contributes to productivity improvements by accelerating the import of data from different sources into Microsoft Project Server. ResourceLink is available immediately at TPG.
ResourceLink enables customers to import data from any combination of sources, including Navision, SAP, Active Directory, SQL Server, LDAP, and file systems. The prerequisite for deploying ResourceLink is a source system that can export the resources in XML. If the source system cannot supply this format, a conversion tool using XSL is available.
ResourceLink is unlike other existing products for importing resource data because:
品t imports any Enterprise Resource field
品t supports a large number of the Microsoft Project Server resource properties
品ts rules can be flexibly configured according to customer preferences
品t supports a large number of Project Server resource properties (e.g. RBS write/update/assign)
品t synchronizes by personnel number, not by name
苗ustomers can choose the principal system for each resource property
品mports can be scheduled.
The development team at The Project Group put particular emphasis on the speed of synchronization while they were developing the XML-based product. Before the real data is imported, customers can perform a simulation to test the process, and each task is documented with detailed log files to facilitate analysis afterwards.
While we were developing the SAP Connector Solution Starter for Microsoft, we had the idea of developing a really powerful and centralized product for importing data from several sources," said Johann Strasser, The Project Groups president and development director. ResourceLink meets a widespread need for companies to make productivity gains by automating the update process."
