Underground Denim is pleased to announce they have set dates for their 2005 College Tour. Underground Denim is an innovative marketing company that produces fashion sample sales on college campuses throughout the United States. The 2005 Tour kicked off on March 1st at Duke University and will visit over 50 campuses in 35 states and reach over 1,000,000 students.

Started in 2003 by two young entrepreneurs in Los Angeles, Underground Denim has grown into the premiere sample sale tour targeting the college demographic. These extremely popular events are often the only chance students have to find affordable and highly sought after brand name streetwear. “When we were in school, all our friends would read about the latest and hottest fashions or see them on TV but we either couldn’t find them or couldn’t afford them. We realized that there was a great untapped market for these brands.” said Jordan Rosen, Co-Founder, Underground Denim

Underground Denim prides itself on being at the edge of the fashion curve. UD provides denim (jeans, tops, skirts, jackets, etc.) from the hottest brands, including: 7 For All Mankind, True Religion, James Jeans, Jet, Chip and Pepper, Sacred Blue, Blue Cult, Joe’s Jeans, Yanuk, Jean Paul Da’mage Jeans, J & Company, Da Nang, Ella Moss, Splendid, Landes Daily, Joyanne, Tiffany Alana, AG, Juicy, Rock & Republic, Trunk and others. In 2005, sample sales will also include a variety of popular non-denim merchandise such as sweats, t-shirts and other apparel for both men and women. Underground Denim is constantly adding new brands to offer the best and most up-to-date denim styles the industry has to offer.

UD has established relationships with the fashion industry’s top denim manufacturers and distributors, making themselves an invaluable liaison between companies and the college demographic. Through Underground Denim, these brands have been able to convert a traditionally money losing business necessity (liquidating excess inventory) into a cost effective marketing tool. Not only are these companies liquidating their excess inventory at reasonable prices, they are tapping into a growing and influential group of loyal consumers. “We realized early on that just selling your excess inventory at the end of a season could undercut a high-end brand. The college marketplace is a much better target from both a marketing and branding perspective. Not only are these brands hitting a hard-to-reach demographic, they’re creating loyal brand ambassadors and great buzz for their product.” stated Jamie Mazur, Co-Founder, Underground Denim.

The 2005 Tour opened at Duke University on March 1st and runs though June before picking up again in September when students return to campus for the Fall semester. Overall, the tour will visit 50 campuses in 35 states including both public and private universities such as UCLA, University of Texas, Michigan State University and the University of North Carolina.

In addition to bringing in-demand fashions to the college set, Underground Denim are creating marketing partnerships with companies that wish to target this hard-to-reach demographic. While on tour, the Company provides sampling, couponing, and promotional marketing opportunities for its marketing partners and sponsors. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available at this time.

Underground Denim was founded in late 2003 to serve the growing demand for high-end fashion brands among the college demographic. The Company produces events that feature the latest and hottest denim brands as well as other clothing and streetwear. Underground Denim, the premiere fashion sample sale business in the college market, is located in Culver City, California.
