Underground Denim is an innovative marketing company that produces fashion sample sales on college campuses throughout the United States. The 2005 Tour kicked off on March 1st at Duke University and will visit over 50 campuses in 35 states and reach over 1,000,000 students.
Started in 2003 by two young entrepreneurs in Los Angeles, Underground Denim has grown into the premiere sample sale tour targeting the college demographic. These extremely popular events are often the only chance students have to find affordable and highly sought after brand name streetwear. Through Underground Denim, these brands have been able to convert a traditionally money losing business necessity (liquidating excess inventory) into a cost effective marketing tool. Not only are these companies liquidating their excess inventory at reasonable prices, they are tapping into a growing and influential group of loyal consumers. The 2005 Tour opened at Duke University on March 1st and runs though June before picking up again in September when students return to campus for the Fall semester. Overall, the tour will visit 50 campuses in 35 states including both public and private universities such as UCLA, University of Texas, Michigan State University and the University of North Carolina.
In addition to bringing in-demand fashions to the college set, Underground Denim are creating marketing partnerships with companies that wish to target this hard-to-reach demographic. While on tour, the Company provides sampling, couponing, and promotional marketing opportunities for its marketing partners and sponsors.
