A California dad's dream, to find a way for his kids and others to brand their names on all their sportswear and gear, is finally a reality.

Now, after more than seven years of development, John Wynne is rolling out his patented dream invention, called Name Brander, onto the aisles of major sporting goods stores across the country, including Wal-Mart. For the first time, this novel invention will make it possible for anyone to permanently brand their name, with expert results, on almost all of their sports equipment and apparel.

"After searching, I realized that there wasn't a practical and inexpensive way for people to print their name on all of their sporting goods," Wynne said. " I felt that it was important for the name to be permanent to help prevent loss and theft but also be visually pleasing and professional looking. People have previously used all sorts of things from felt-tip markers to ballpoint pens to put their names on things. None of them work very well. They are not that permanent and certainly do not give professional looking results."

Setting out to make his dream a reality, Wynne, a former teacher, photographer, chiropractor and now inventor said, "The challenge of making the invention easy and simple-to-use was really the difficult part. Applying names to items had always been a task reserved for skilled professionals- requiring high tech equipment, exact measurements, centering, etc." Wynne was determined, however, saying, "I was intent on making it so user-friendly and so forgiving of mistakes that the results would put a smile on the face of any first-time user."

The Name Brander is sold in a kit and includes simple directions, stencils, novel stencil holder, special pen, paints, applicator, and even an etching tool so it can work on a wide range of objects and materials like: rubber balls, leather gloves, metal bats, plastic helmets and all fabric items such as backpacks, jerseys and equipment bags. It also works on dozens of consumer products including luggage and clothing. Another novel feature of Name Brander is that it is reusable, so it is good for dozens of applications.

The Name Brander has various versions of the product selling for $6 - $9. In addition to being found at Wal-Mart, it is also sold at Academy, Modells, and Dunhams and on all major sporting goods company's web sites such as http://www.modells.com or by simply searching the web for Name Brander. Additional information is also on the manufacturer's web site: http://www.hotglove.com.
