The SteLuTec Foundation Begins; Offering Cash Grants to Parents of Hospitalized Kids

The SteLuTec Foundation (www.stelutec.org) takes applications from parents of children in the hospital, and pays the salary of one parent so that at least one can be with the child during their hospital stay.

(PRWEB) March 11, 2005 -- I appeal everywhere - Let us bring the child back - and this year being the child's year: What have we done for the child?" Mother Teresa

When his daughter Tecla was born, Anthony Price decided something was wrong. The forty eight hours spent in intensive care at Childrens Hospital in St. Paul helped him see something he never knew existed. There were nearly thirty other babies in that unit, but none were being visited by their parents. There were no parents to be found.

Upon asking a nurse after seeing a volunteer rocking a newborn baby, Anthony learned that most parents cannot afford time off work. Some of these children have to stay up to six months, and there isnt enough sick leave or vacation time to cover that. Also, some of these children come from hundreds of miles away. There are limits to what people can do.

Thats the information that led to the development of the newest charity in Minnesota: The SteLuTec Foundation.

The SteLuTec Foundation (www.stelutec.org) takes applications from parents of children in the hospital, and pays the salary of one parent so that at least one can be with the child during their hospital stay.

We all know that sick children get better quicker when they can experience physical contact, especially from their parents," Anthony notes, we just want to make sure that happens."

The SteLuTec Foundation does accept cash donations (the 501 (c) 3 application is pending) but primarily, as Anthony says, We wont ask for anything without giving something back immediately. Our fundraising efforts will never be a cash donation without something in return. Like our essay contest: sure it costs $20.00 to enter, but the grand prize is a newly remodeled house valued at more than $230,000.00!"

Anthony is also known as the general manager of Friendly 'Puters, LLC, a small computer company in Hastings.

We each have the strength to bear the misfortunes of others," Anthony says. Im just doing what I can."

Questions or comments can be directed to Anthony via telephone or email.
