Silanis Announces ApproveIt Desktop Version 5.7: New Features and Product Enhancements Support Global Customer Needs

Silanis Technology announced the general availability of ApproveIt Desktop Version 5.7, the latest release of the companyÂ?s award winning desktop electronic approval software that captures legally enforceable electronic approvals on documents and forms as part of the business process.

Silanis Technology, the leading provider of solutions that automate the business approval process, today announced the general availability of ApproveIt Desktop Version 5.7, the latest release of the company’s award winning desktop electronic approval software. Business and government customers across the globe rely on ApproveIt Desktop to capture legally enforceable electronic approvals on documents and forms as part of their business processes.

The addition of trusted time stamping, leveraging the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP), now enables the use of a trusted timeserver to capture the time of signing. Administrators can choose whether to time stamp signatures using a trusted timeserver or the local time of the system. Trusted time stamping is a critical addition to the product as more and more organizations deploy the solution for time-sensitive transactions such as funds transfers, where a time discrepancy can cost an organization thousands of dollars.

Date and time display fields in the audit trail are also customizable, enabling the administrator to define and enforce a specific format and appearance. This is a subtle, but important feature for organizations that operate across multiple countries with different date format standards.

ApproveIt Desktop Version 5.7 also introduces a customizable digital certificate status view that enables the audit trail to be configured to show the status of the digital certificate at both the time of signing and today. This critical new feature, is necessary for an organization or government agency to prove that a digital certificate was valid when the document was signed, even if the certificate has expired or been revoked by the time the document is reviewed.

ApproveIt Desktop Version 5.7 also offers expanded software support, including full support of PureEdge ICS Viewer 6.3, PureEdge Designer 6.2.1, and Certificate Management Library (CML) Version 2.4. Hardware signature capture support has also been enhanced to include native support for real-time signing with both Topaz and Interlink Electronics signature capture tablets, and new support for the Interlink ePad-i.d. product.
