Brooks Pepperfire Foods to sponsor 2005 Peterborough Sensations
Peterborough Sensations is the brainchild of Canadian Jazz Musician Elyse Bruce. Its a spring break activity designed much like the inst-star programs such as Canadian Idol TM. The week long camp runs from March 14 to 18 and offers youth the opportunity to explore the possibility of a career in the Music Industry.
Peterborough, Ontario (PRWEB) March 12, 2005 -- With the success of Canadian Idol, we are starting to realize just how much talent there is in each community across the country," Stated Elyse Bruce. Bruce has worked as an artist-in-residence, composer, songwriter, performer and clinician over the past 25 years.
Sensations picks up where Idol leaves off; allowing younger talent the opportunity to experience some of the benefits that the Idol eligible teens can derive. The Camp Workshop features include breathing technique, image and song presentation, stage presence and movement. The Camp culminates in a live performance Friday night at The Gordon Best Theatre with $5 per ticket, at 7:30 p.m. Judges include Brian Ellis of The Wolf 101.5 FM, http://www.thewolf.ca/, Jason Desrosiers of CHEX-TV, http://www.chextv.com/, and Lois Tuffin, Editor-in-Chief of Peterborough This Week, http://www.mykawartha.com/. Each participant is recognized with a certificate for at least one excellent aspect of his or her performance.
I, have a 12 year old who would dearly love the opportunity to try out for Idol. She cant do that, so camps like this one can open up that opportunity for her. Wed love to see more programs like this and what better way to encourage them, then to sponsor them and get involved.
