Unique Barcelona City Break Takes On Language Barrier

don Quijote launches 3-day Spanish Course with Bed and Breakfast.

Salamanca, Spain (PRWEB) March 14, 2005 -- Don Quijote, Spains largest provider of in-country Spanish courses, will launch a new weekend Spanish course in Barcelona. The Come Taste Barcelona programme is designed as an alternative City Break for travellers wishing to mix with the locals and improve their language skills while enjoying a quick escape to Barcelona. The course combines Spanish classes with an optional Bed & Breakfast stay in the home of a Spanish family. Participants will study Spanish for an hour and 45 minutes each morning, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, leaving them all afternoon and evening to explore Barcelona on their own, armed with their new vocabulary and grammar. Come Taste Barcelona will be offered monthly. The first two courses begin Friday, March 18 and Friday, April 15.

Language travel is an increasingly popular way to vacation", commented René de Jong, founder and General Director of don Quijote. We initially designed the weekend course as a way for clients to taste" the don Quijote experience -- and home stay with locals - before diving into a longer course, but weve quickly seen its appeal grow among all kinds of travellers. Language travellers gain a intimate view of a destination, by interacting with locals and truly living" the language, culture and daily life."

The course appeals to Europeans who want to give their night school Spanish a real world outing in a Spanish city, friends looking for a fun and affordable way to meet up in a world-class city and folks who want to quickly learn a little Spanish before setting off on a longer tour of Spain", added de Jong.

The price of the 3-day course is 125 euros. A weekend package including the course and 3 nights Bed & Breakfast with a Spanish family is priced at 199 euros. Prices include a get-acquainted Welcome Dinner with teachers and fellow students, study materials, and a thorough evaluation of the students Spanish level. All students of Spanish, from absolute beginners to experienced veterans, are invited to attend. As in all don Quijote language courses, each student is guaranteed a class of 8 or less students at his appropriate level.

For 18 years, don Quijote, the market leader in in-country Spanish language courses, has been exclusively dedicated to the teaching of Spanish to foreigners. In 2004, the company welcomed more than 10,000 students from 60 countries to its schools in Salamanca, Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife, Seville, Granada and Valencia in Spain, and Guanajuato, Mexico. The companys Web site, www.donquijote.org, a Spanish language portal offering more than 34,000 pages of Spanish language resources, receives more than 35,000 visits daily.
