The 3rd Annual Fashion Lives Takes Off March 19 with Destination Diva"
(PRWEB) March 12, 2005 -- Ummah is proud to present the 3rd Annual Fashion Lives; the premiere runway fashion event of Washington DC entitled Destination Diva" to benefit HIV/AIDS education and prevention efforts. The highly anticipated fashion show will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at The Andrew Mellon Auditorium 1301 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC. Doors Open 7:30 pm.
The show will feature a series of beautiful couture runway collections presented by designers Asada, Flattering Freedom, Grandview, Merakhusa, Shaka King New York and Tribal Truth.
In stylish Fashion Lives tradition, the show will be complimented with the soulful performance of platinum artists Mint Condition as they perform R& B hits such as Pretty Brown Eyes" and "What Kind of Man Would I Be".
This years event will inaugurate the Ummah Style Awards" that will be presented to Al Flowers, Flavia, Jeannie Jones and W. Ellington Felton. The Ummah Endowment Fund is a national 501 (c) (3) community based organization, leading the fight to eradicate HIV/AIDS by generating and distributing resources, funding and programs to organizations addressing the pandemic in urban communities nationwide. Since its inception in February 2002, the Ummah Endowment Fund, Inc. has contributed over $390,000 to HIV/AIDs education and social marketing efforts benefiting over 5,500 people of color of the Greater Washington Metro Region.
