ABC Daytime Soap Stars Get a Surprise Sweet Tooth While Doing Charity Work - Friday, March 11, 2005
Gift Bags by Sasa (GBS) were presented to ABC Daytime soap stars at Daytime at Nitetime", a charity fundraiser held at the opulent Jericho Terrace, Long Island NY, benefiting tri-state based The Gabriel Project (501-c3). Event attendees each donated $110 dollars or more to enjoy an open bar and diner during cabaret performances by some of the biggest names in Daytime TV.

Additional event entertainment included a live all-star band featuring Kamar De Los (Antonio -- One Life To Live or OLTL) and Trevor St. John (Todd - OLTL), and DJ Needles. Adding to the fun of the evening, event MC Dan Gauthier (Kevin - OLTL) directed raffles and auctions of donated merchandise, raising more money to help The Gabriel Project continue its life saving work with children from around the world.
After volunteering their time and celebrity status to ensure event success, stars of ABC Daytime soaps One Life To Live (OLTL), All My Children and others received surprise Gift Bags by Sasa as a special thank you. The actors sincerely appreciated the goody bags presented on behalf of the grateful charity and the team efforts of Laurie Caccioli, Sharon Glidden, Rob Berger, Lois, Lena Garofalo, Stacy Garofalo, and Marcia Tovsky.
Included in the Gift Bags by Sasa Celebrity Thank You bags were products and event tickets donated by Kazam Natural Body Care, high profile launching band Mudville /Day to Day entertainment, Godiva Chocolatier Inc., Crabtree & Evelyn, Farouk Friedman Extra Virgin Olive Oil (1st Cold Pressed /imported from the Holy Land), and the Off Broadway hit production of Ourselves Alone" written by Anne Develyn. Valued at $100.00 per gift bag, the above mention product providers donated more than $3000.00 dollars of premium product collectively. Event producer Lori Caccioli stated the soap stars loved the products in the gift bag! I could see the exciting and unexpected enjoyment Gift Bags by Sasa created."
All proceeds from ticket sales, event raffles, and auctions raised 100% charitable donations in excess of $19,000 dollars according to Marcia Tovsky, a member of the event team. The talent, production, promotions materials, along with products included in Gift Bags by Sasa were donations. The Gabriel Project, founded and managed by Mark J. Melamed (a professional educator), is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children dying of heart disease from Third World countries where such surgery is not possible. In addition, The Gabriel Project helps critically ill children in the United States, providing a grant to help offset medical costs.
