Respected Clinician and Integrative Medicine Pioneer Addresses The American Chemical Society Convention
The clinical applications of Modified Citrus Pectin will be presented by integrative medicine pioneer, Isaac Eliaz, M.D., M.S.C., L.Ac at the Chemical Society National Meeting this week. Among its other applications, studies have indicated that MCP has a very important clinical applicaton in heavy metal chelation.
Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) March 15, 2005 -- Isaac Eliaz, M.D., M.S.C., L.Ac., founder of Better Health Publishing®, will speak at the 229th American Chemical Society National Meeting on March 15th in San Diego, California. Beginning at 10:30 AM his 30-minute presentation at the Pectins: Health and Agrichemical Applications Symposium will address the clinical applications of Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP). He will highlight investigations of MCPs prevention and treatment of health problems associated with human exposure to heavy metals and toxins. He will also speak on the effects of MCP on cancer.
MCP is known mostly for its effects on inhibiting cancer metastasis and reducing tumor growth and development. However, the results from our most recent human clinical trial demonstrate that MCP also has very important clinical applications in heavy metal chelation," said Dr. Eliaz. The therapeutic use of MCP significantly decreases the total mercury body burden, and can possibly reduce other heavy metals as well. Dietary methods that can reduce the toxic load of heavy metals and toxins, without the side effects of intravenous chelation therapies, will provide clinicians a promising alternative to the harsher therapies.
MCP is a dietary supplement derived from the peel and pulp of citrus fruit. Dr. Eliaz was granted two US patents in 2001 and 2002 for new applications of MCP, including using MCP to chelate heavy metals. MCP also has beneficial effects on cholesterol reduction, digestion and possibly immune stimulation.
Dr. Eliaz and his colleagues have conducted pilot human clinical trials to investigate the use of MCP as a systemic chelator of environmental toxins and in the treatment of prostate cancer.
