NEW YORK, N.Y. (PRWEB) Â March 16, 2005 Â JD Bliss, a leading provider of resources to attorneys seeking greater work life balance and career satisfaction, has announced the launch of a new webinar series focused on helping attorneys achieve quality of life.
The first presentation in the series, scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. EST, will teach lawyers proven techniques for balancing their professional obligations and family and personal interests. The 60-minute webinar will be presented by Lauren Stiller Rikleen, a partner at the law firm of Bowditch & Dewey LLP, and Heidi Brown, of counsel to the law firm of Moore & Lee LLP. Both Ms. Rikleen and Ms. Brown have written and spoken extensively on the subject of balancing life and the law.
As past president of the Boston Bar Association, Ms. Rikleen created a task force on work family balance that produced a detailed report carefully documenting the evolving nature and economics of the practice of law, and the resulting impact on lawyers' personal and family lives. Ms. Rikleen is currently finishing a book that explores the dynamics affecting the retention of women attorneys at law firms and their advancement to partnership.
Ms. Brown is the author of a 588-page treatise, ÂFundamentals of Federal Litigation, (West Publishing) that provides hands-on, practical guidance to new litigators, including a separate appendix for young attorneys on techniques for reducing stress, raising productivity and increasing professional and personal satisfaction. Several law firms have based their new associate training programs on the text.
Individuals wishing to register for the April 20th webinar or obtain further details may visit: http://www.envoyglobal.net/jdbliss/webinars/rikleenbrown.htm
Individuals who register for the webinar before March 31, 2005 will receive a 20 percent discount off the registration fee. Additionally, each paid registrant will receive a free copy of ÂThe Happy Lawyer, Larry Schreiter's highly acclaimed guide to increased satisfaction and happiness from legal practice.
ÂRecent studies show that up to 86 percent of employees say work/life balance is their No. 1 career priority, noted Joshua Fruchter, JD BlissÂs founder and editor-in-chief, and a former attorney. ÂAmong lawyers, in particular, we find surging interest in quality of life issues given the enormous toll that billable hour requirements can take on family life and other outside interests. This webinar will show lawyers how to regain control over their life and create more free time.Â
