(PRWEB) March 17, 2005 -- The April 2005 eWomenNetwork Northern Colorado meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 20th at the University Park Holiday Inn, 425 W. Prospect Road in Fort Collins, Colorado. Informal networking will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The meeting will feature local businesswoman Angie the Dream Weaver, who has coordinated a "Wigs for Kids" haircutting event. Wigs for Kids is a nationally recognized non-for-profit charity that provides wigs at no cost to children who have lost their hair due to a variety of causes, including medical treatments, health conditions, burn accidents, etc.

"We're seeking volunteers with hair at least 10 inches long that has not been chemically treated," notes Angie. "They will have their hair cut and styled for free, in return for their donation of the cut hair to Wigs for Kids. We will also accept old ponytails that anyone may have cut off and stored, and now wants to donate."

Up to 18 models will have the opportunity to donate hair and receive a free haircut in return. Volunteers have already signed up to come in from Sheridan, Wyoming, Michigan and Pennsylvania for this fun, exciting charitable event. Two 7-year old girls, and a 13-year old, with their parents' permission, have volunteered. Local women who have committed include Amber Jarvis of Teachers Funding, Dawn Putney of Toolbox Creative, Kris Boesch of Exodus Moving and Wendy Walmsley of SOMA. The models will have their hair cut on stage, and go backstage to be transformed, returning for a fashion show attired in clothing from Linda Winter's Accessories with a Flair.

"We look forward to making stars of the women and girls who have volunteered to have their hair cut so a child can have a wig that fits," notes Ann Clarke, executive director of the Northern Colorado chapters of eWomenNetwork. "This is going to be great fun, in the true spirit of giving, and a great way to kickoff our second year in existence."

Volunteers will be asked to attend a brief meeting in late March to answer any questions and work out details of the event. Those who volunteer to have their hair cut should have at least 10-inch-long, non-chemically treated hair. Old pony tails that have been cut off and saved are also welcome as donations. Children and teenagers interested in donating are more than welcome, with a parent's permission.

Attendees to this and other eWN events will connect with women who want to do business with other women, and discover new contacts, resources, alliances and partnering possibilities. This event is structured to enhance business development initiatives for female business owners and professionals, or those considering starting a business. There will be displays, food and "Accelerated Networking" which will allow each attendee to share what she has to offer.

eWomenNetworks trademarked brand of Accelerated Networking events are held across the U.S. and Canada, and have been helping professional women in Denver, Colorado Springs and elsewhere connect since its founding in 1999. Now, this resource and opportunity to connect is available to businesswomen along the northern Front Range.

For more information, call 970-669-5089, or go to www.eWomenNetwork.com, click on Networking Events.," and select "CO, Northern Front Range."

About Wigs for Kids
Wigs for Kids was established in 1993 in Rocky River, Ohio by Jeffrey and Zina Paul, hair designers who made their first wig for their own young niece when she was undergoing chemotherapy. Wigs for Kids now creates at least 60 full hairpieces a year for children, and never turns down a request for assistance. Every year, many of the 12,000 children diagnosed with cancer lose their hair as a result of medical treatments. Others are diagnosed with alopecia areata, a hereditary condition that results in total hair loss over the entire body. Some lose their hair as a result of burns. And some develop a psychological condition that causes them to pull out their own hair uncontrollably. Whatever the cause, the results are the same: While struggling with painful and difficult medical conditions, they must also deal with the blow to their self-esteem as a result of hair loss. Wigs for Kids was created to help these children feel like themselves again. It takes up to 12 ponytails and $1500 to design and create the hair systems, each of which is painstakingly constructed to meet the individual needs of the recipient. While the charity receives hair donations from all over the country, funds are also accepted to pay for materials and other manufacturing expenses. For more information, visit www.wigsforkids.org.
