Sturges' Charlotte, NC Start-Up Bank Renamed Bank of Commerce

In a move to avoid market confusion, the board of directors of a local start-up bank previously called CommerceBank (Proposed) has voted to rename it Bank of Commerce (Proposed). The North Carolina Commissioner of Banks has given approval to the new name.

(PRWEB) March 18, 2005 -- In a move to avoid market confusion, the board of directors of a local start-up bank initially named CommerceBank has voted to rename it Bank of Commerce (Proposed). The North Carolina Commissioner of Banks has given approval to the new name.

A similarly named community bank in Gastonia raised the issue after the NC Commissioner of Banks had approved our initial name and all the subsequent publicity about our bank," says Wes Sturges, president of Bank of Commerce (Proposed). We dont want there to be any question in the market about who we are, especially since we have aggressive growth plans and could some day operate in other counties."

Bank of Commerce (Proposed) plans to serve the needs of small to mid-sized businesses in the Charlotte, NC area.

From its midtown Charlotte, NC office, it will offer guidance to customers from experienced loan officers, in addition to start-up capital and other financial products and services. Online banking, courier service and extended deposit hours will be additional hallmarks of the Bank of Commerce (Proposed), www.commercebanknc.com.
