Are You Leaving Your Security in the Hands of your Web Browser

Online privacy company announces user-friendly tools to help you protect your own online life.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (PRWEB) March 18, 2005 -- While this story made headlines, (http://news.com.com/Can+Firefox+outfox+IE+in+browser+wars/2030-1069_3-5616002.html) online privacy company, Metropipe announced the release of a multi-platform (Windows, OSX, Linux) supported, 'Tunneler v2.1 enabling every internet user to protect their privacy on the Internet encrypting web, chat, email, and other Internet traffic. Alongside will be a free download specifically for Mozilla Firefox users, the 'Privacy Toolbar which includes a complete set of privacy and security tools within immediate access, giving you instant security controls with just a mouse click.

The Tunneler is a graphical interface compatible with multiple platforms (Win, OSX, Linux) which creates an encrypted channel or tunnel" between your computer and the Metropipe proxy servers throughout the world. Once installed, your web browsing and all internet activities that you send through it are encrypted between your machine and Metropipe, leaving your machine anonymous. This protects you from the many prying eyes out there. The 'Tunneler is controlled by its own application, a simple program that gives you the freedom to turn it On and Off as you please, and automatically configures your web browsers (Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) proxies.

The perfect companion for the Tunneler is the 'Privacy Toolbar. This is specifically for Mozilla Firefox users who are tired of digging around in 'Preferences' menus or editing complicated configuration settings. Its developed for Metropipe customers but usable for anyone who is concerned about privacy and security while surfing the net. It allows you to easily disable cookies, javascript, cache, images, referrer, and IDN Exploit Fix, along with faking your browser type. These are just a few of the features offered. The 'Tunneler is not required to use this tool and its free to download.

Technical Support Administrator, Gman had to say Nowadays, its not unusual for ISPs to track what youre doing online, its up to you to protect your own privacy. It seems that everyone is watching and listening."

Metropipe has long been developing privacy products to help you protect yourself instead of leaving it up to the powers at be. The 'Tunneler v.2.1 and the free 'Privacy Toolbar will directly influence the now common, tracking and logging done by ISPs, not to mention, protection from hack attempts. Just a few months ago, this group of developers and designers made Slashdot news with the release of their PVPM (Portable Virtual Private Machine). A completely virtual Linux machine which enables you to carry your entire Internet communication system on a tiny USB drive, completely encrypted. All Metropipe products are 100% open source. Itll be exciting to see what other privacy products are on the horizon for 2005.
