The Reflecto Model is based on a simple metaphor of widely known occupations: Detective, Librarian, Architect, Explorer, Air-traffic Controller, Carpenter, Referee, Music Conductor. This compelling model can be used to improve thinkings skills of all primary and secondary students, including ADHD and Exceptional learners.
Reflecto has roots in over 40 years of cognitive and neuro-psychological research and is based on established cognitive principles such as left/right brain processing, executive functions, metacognition, using metaphors for learning, and language as a mediation tool. It has been influenced by Vigotskys and Bronowskis research on the use of internal dialogue for cognitive mediation, and by the techniques for modeling strategies proposed by Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
