Tenerife Resorts Launches Win a Holiday Competition

TenerifeÂ?s number one web portal has launched an exciting new competition in which they will be giving away 100 luxury holidays to the lucky winners.

The competition is open to anyone and takes the form of a draw. Entrants simply need to complete the contact form and the winners will be chosen in a two tier prize draw at the end of the month.

The competition has been designed to tie in with the latest government initiatives to promote tourism in the Canary Islands. A member of the Tenerife Resorts team, speaking from Los Cristianos, said: “there have been a number of proposed campaigns to promote the islands, including a new Tenerife logo and intensive TV advertising. We hope this competition will complement the government’s work and give people the opportunity to come to Tenerife and get to know the island”.

Much of the motivation behind the government’s new promotional activities has been to counteract some of the misconceptions that Tenerife is just an island for cheap food, cheap beer and beaches. One source close to Tenerife’s Cabildo had this to say: “our ministers feel that Tenerife is misunderstood. Of course there are some areas of the island that cater for the low-end package market, but they are only a tiny piece of the jigsaw. The island has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker - fine dining, quality entertainment, world class golf, stunning scenery and some of the best hotels in Europe. We want to show the world that Tenerife is a sophisticated holiday destination that continues to cultivate quality and style”.

For those who don’t know, Tenerife is one of the Canary Islands lying some sixty miles off the coast of north Africa. The superb climate has earned it the moniker “the island of eternal spring” and as such attracts sun worshippers all year round.
