NCDOT To Shift Traffic On Northbound U.S. 1/64 In Wake County
The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will temporarily shift traffic on northbound U.S. 1/64 into the median from Cary Parkway to Walnut Street starting Saturday, March 19, weather permitting.
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) March 19, 2005 -- The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will temporarily shift traffic on northbound U.S. 1/64 into the median from Cary Parkway to Walnut Street starting Saturday, March 19, weather permitting. The shift will remain in effect until July 2005.
The shift is necessary for outer lane widening as part of the U.S. 1/64 widening project.
The U.S. 1/64 widening project is a $58 million project, that is anticipated to be completed in late 2006 and will improve U.S. 1/64 from south of the I-40 interchange to the U.S. 64/Tryon Road interchange in Cary.
The NCDOT reminds motorists to stay alert in the U.S. 1/64 construction zone, obey the posted speed limit of 55 mph, be aware of construction workers and watch signs for construction information. The fine for speeding in the work zone is $250 and three driver license points.

The NCDOT invites motorists that visit the project website to register to receive e-mail updates about the U.S. 1/64 widening project.
