The Cagewarriors Fighting Championships Prepare To Unleash "Ultimate Force" At The Xscape Centre In Castleford Engalnd This April 30th

Latest in-depth preview for the first Paul Murphy/Dave Mangham promoted Cagewarriors Franchise show which will take place at the stunning Xscape Centre in Castleford, Yorkshire on Saturday 30th April 2005

(PRWEB) March 19, 2005 -- Cagewarriors: Ultimate Force is the new Cagewarriors brand and it will make its debut on Saturday 30th April at the Xscape Centre in Castleford (nr Leeds). This state of the art venue is an amazing indoor entertainment complex, which contains bars, cafés and restaurants as well as a wide range of fun activities such as bowling, indoor skiing, interactive gaming, cinemas and more. This gives Cagewarriors fans a chance to experience an unrivalled entertainment package which will enhance an exhilarating night of Mixed Martial Arts action. For more information on this venue go to http://www.xscape.co.uk/castleford/news/?r=1

The card for this event is also slowly taking shape as the Ultimate Force" team is proud to announce the start of what should be an exciting and varied card for their April 30th event, which features some home grown talent alongside some top foreign imports.

The first match-up features the top lightweight contender Dave The big bad wolf" Roche VS TBA. This happened due to Kazeka Muniz withdrawing from the show.

Also confirmed for Ultimate Force" is a fascinating battle between 2 powerful young lions of the Welterweight division, as the French sensation Mohamed 'Sako' Kacha (5-1-0 with 1 NC) from the French Top Team takes on the Northern Cartels Matt 12 Gauge" Thorpe. Kacha the UKMMAC Welterweight World Champion is already touted by some as one of Europes best Welterweight prospects and holds first round KO wins over the likes of Paul Hands of Stone" Jenkins and Alex De Souza as well as a TKO win over the Cagewarriors Welterweight champion Abdul Mohamed at Pride and Glory 2 last year.

His opponent Matt Thorpe (4-3-0) is a member of the official CWFC fight team The Northern Cartel" and is a tall, rangy and versatile athlete whose previous MMA victories have come by submission. Since his lost to Oliver Ellis at Cagewarriors 6, Thorpe has worked extensively on his game and even dipped his toes into the UK-1 kickboxing circuit at FCFN 3 in November last year where he won by KO. Thorpe will be hoping for a repeat performance when he meets the explosive young Frenchman inside the CWFC 32ft Octagon on April 30th in Castleford.

The third confirmed fight is a rematch from Cagewarriors 8 in September last year, as Mark Spenna" Spencer (3-3-0) from Team Fulinkazan/Northern Cartel looks to avenge his defeat at the hands of Ollie Ellis (5-3-1) from Team Savage. In September these two Lightweight division warriors went the distance with Ellis working his way to a judges decision despite a late charge from Spenna" who looked to rattle Ellis standing as both men tired towards the end of an active and entertaining contest.

Since this narrow lost Spencer has been eager for a rematch and has been training vigorously at his various clubs, whilst Ellis will be keen to show the kind of form that saw him take Jean Silva (The Cage Rage World Lightweight Champion) to a controversial draw in July 2004. Since then Ellis fought on the European Shooto circuit where he lost to the highly rated Jani Lax before coming back to beat Gareth Neal at the Ultimate Fight Club in January.

The fourth confirmed fight is a Middleweight Match-up between the unbeaten Ian "Mongoose" Jones (3-0-0) from Wakefield submission against Michael "Rocky" Holmes (4-2-0) The Mongoose" a former Muay Thai champ has been impressive since his switch to MMA, working under the tutorage of Andy Cooper, Jones has won all of his fights by submission. He will take on the North East power puncher Michael Holmes in what should be a crowd pleasing stand-up war.

The fifth confirmed fight with be another Cagewarriors first as Ultimate Force will have the UKs first Hybrid San Shou" bout inside the CWFC Octagon. This follows on from the success that Cagewarriors have encountered previously with their Cage Kickboxing bouts, which features fast and furious stand-up action. The team behind Ultimate Force" hopes the same will apply to this new Hybrid San Shou" concept, which will feature a dynamic mix of flashy throws and strikes (including elbows) over 2x5 minute rounds.

However Cagewarriors are also pleased to announce another surprise as competing in this Hybird San Shou" bout will be the veteran Andy Cooper (10-4-1 in MMA) who the Ultimate Force" team managed to coax out of his self imposed exile. Cooper will face the JKD stylist Ray Burns (3-1-0 in MMA) who competed at the very first Cagewarriors show in 2002 and was last seen in MMA circles winning via choke at XFC 2 in November 2003.

Fight number six features Sam Bradley from Gracie Barra Stockton taking on the night's third Wakefield submission fighter in the form of Gav Keane in this 74kg catchweight match-up. Little is known about both guys as they have only previously thought at smaller events that don't keep proper records in the UK. But i am sure that both men will be looking to make the most of this chance in a much bigger show.

And just confirmed today is an intriguing contest between two submission specialists as the unbeaten Alex Owen (6-0-0) from Team Savage takes on the experienced ZST and Shootboxing Japan veteran Danny Batten (5-5-2). Owen has been tearing into the Featherweight division since his pro debut at Cagewarriors 6 last March. This impressive run has even seen him submit Craig Fallon (a British Olympic Judo team member in 90 seconds) and saw him end the unbeaten streak of Frederic Fernandez (brother of the CWFC champion Emmanuel Fernandez) at Cagewarriors 9 Xtreme Xmas in December.

Batten on the other hand has been on a sabbatical since his lost to Cage Rage World Lightweight Champion Jean Silva at Cage Rage 3, nearly 2 years ago in London. Batten whos MMA record stretches back some five years, has faced some of the best domestic fighters in the Lightweight division, and will be looking to show why he was once rated as one of Britains top fighters, when he drops down a weight and takes on the brash, confident and unbeaten Owen at Ultimate Force" in a contest that could be seen as a number 1 contenders clash for the CWFC Featherweight crown.

There are still more top class fights to be announced which will include the usual array of surprises, as Cagewarriors Ultimate Force promises to deliver the same high standard of action which has made the CWFC one of the UKs top events, whilst also implementing a few new twists of their own and managing to attract, new sponsors and settle into a new state-of-the-art venue in Castleford.
