Russell Bedford Malaysia Takes First Step in National Expansion Plan

Lean Chin & Co. Chartered Accountants is the new name of the Malaysian member of Russell Bedford International following the integration of Lean Oh & Associates into K.C. Chin & Co.

Chin & Co., the Kuala Lumpur member of the worldwide Russell Bedford accounting group, has made the first move in its strategy to become a national firm through the integration of another Malaysian accounting practice, Lean Oh & Associates. To reflect this move, the firm has changed its name to Lean Chin & Co.

Lean Oh & Associates (LOA) operated through two offices, with its main premises in SS2 Petaling Jaya (a satellite town on the fringe of Kuala Lumpur) and a branch office in Melaka, some two hours' drive from the capital. The staff and resources of LOA's main office have been absorbed into the KL headquarters, whilst the Melaka location has been retained.

The client base acquired through the merger is quite diverse and includes an educational group, a restaurant chain operator and a multinational equipment supplier based in Japan.

The integrated firm has a combined workforce of more than 25 professionals including three partners, a director and two managers. One of the partners of LOA, Mr LEAN Chee Seng, has been retained as a partner in the merged firm.
