Freebirds World Burrito Launches Television Ad Campaign in Texas Markets
Freebirds World Burrito launches television ads in Texas market to observe Freebirds' 15th year anniversary and their 'Freebirds Fanatics.
(PRWEB) March 21, 2005 -- Freebirds World Burrito, the Texas-based fresh fast casual restaurant known for its Monster burritos, today announced the launch of a state-wide television advertising campaign. The ads, which will commemorate the restaurant chains fifteenth anniversary in Texas, will showcase some of the restaurants frequent diners who represent Freebirds loyal customers. The campaign will debut on March 7, 2005 on multiple cable networks varying slightly by market. The networks include MTV, ESPN, Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, Comedy Central, Discovery, ENT, FX, SciFi, and Spike TV.
The :15 and :30 spots will emphasize real people experiences relating to Freebirds burritos. The individual stories are derived from the Freebirds web site (www.freebirds.com) where the company encourages their customers to share their stories, artwork, or songs depicting a fanatical experience relating to Freebirds.
Where some spots use the actual Freebirds customers to tell their stories, some of the stories have been reenacted by foil characters. Foil art is a tradition of all Freebirds World Burrito restaurants.
These are real Freebirds experiences," said Alan Hixon, President of FREEB!RDS World Burrito. Theyre funny, fast, and curiously fanatical. Our stores are frequented by a wide demographic from families to students, so we went with a campaign that is willfully populist."
One of the spots will highlight a loyal Aggie fan who drops from the stands onto the field during a University of Texas / Texas A&M baseball game and breaks his ankle. He grabs a broom from the stadium as a make-shift crutch. On his way to the hospital, he realizes that he wont have the opportunity to eat for hours. Freebirds is open. He stops on his way to the hospital for a Monster Burrito.
Another spot will depict a gentleman who paid homage to Freebirds by becoming a human-size Freebirds burrito on Halloween. The costume, made of poster board and several rolls of aluminum foil, was worn into a Freebirds location.
And a third story is about a gentleman who sold his blood to a blood bank in order to eat Freebirds burritos regularly.
The campaign, which will outline the stories of four Freebirds Fanatics, was created by Austin-based Lyon Advertising. Lyon Adverting has worked on such accounts as RC Cola, Pennzoil, Brake Check, Xemex Swiss Watches, St. Edwards University and Cellular One.
