"The use of public relations is critical in helping to get the word out about the 2005 WebAwards, and PRWeb is the perfect choice to help us with that project," said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. "PRWeb's press release newswire allows us to target specific industries with our news and helps us not only reach important reporters and editors, but also gain search engine placements, which increase overall visibility and site traffic."

"Supporting the online marketing community is an important part of PRWeb philosophy," said Mick Jolly, Vice President for PRWeb. "We are supported by those marketing professionals who value cost-effective distribution for their news releases. We see the WebAward program as another valuable way for marketing professionals who win an award to benefit from increased visibility. The competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines in Web site development. Judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, creative directors, corporate marketing executives, content providers and webmasters.

Sponsors of the 2005 WebAward Competition include BURST! Media, VentureDirect Worldwide, Oddcast, NewsUSA, ODwyers PR Daily, AdTools Inc., Small Army Creative Services, Burrelles Luce, Line 56 Media, Perseus Development Corp and PRWeb.
