Global Yacht Racing teams up with Sail 4 Cancer to enable ordinary people to experience the challenge of world wide yacht racing.

(PRWEB) March 21, 2005 -- Global Yacht Racing is offering ordinary people who want to experience the challenge of yacht racing the chance to finance some or all of the cost of their crew fee by raising funds and sponsorship money for Sail 4 Cancer. The scheme enables individuals and corporate race teams to subsidize the cost of entering race events with Global Yacht Racing and raises valuable funds for a worthwhile charity.

Sail 4 Cancer aim is to use sailing as medium to raise funds for cancer treatment, research, care and rehabilitation and also provide sailing opportunities for cancer sufferers and their families. It was founded people who have all lost a close relative or friend to cancer in recent years and the courage displayed by those people who have been lost provided the inspiration to help others in similar situations.

Global Yacht Racing is a Southampton based company that provides people with a passion for adventure the opportunity to experience the ultimate challenge -- ocean yacht racing. Some of the races offered are the Rolex Sydney to Hobart, The rolex Fastnet race, The Rolex Middle Sea Race, Skandia Cowes Week, the ARC and Ford Cork Week.

The wide ocean is a beautiful and dramatic place, ever changing and fascinating. Racing across the ocean pitting your wits and testing your endurance against the power of the wind and waves is a sport which can be by turns deeply inspiring and exhilarating and yet desperately challenging and difficult. For those who yearn for more than their two weeks a year in Ibiza, Global Yacht Racing can provide the experience of a lifetime either on offshore races or famous inshore regattas.

Team Global is Global Yacht racings ambitious worldwide racing program which enables people to become part of an outstanding yacht racing team. There are twelve places available on either of the Team Global campaigns, the one year campaign, or the two year campaign. The team will train and race together on various boats in the greatest yacht races and regattas around the world.

Becoming part of the crew on Team Global opens up a whole world of racing to those with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. Following the same philosophy as Robin Knox Johnsons Clipper Ventures and Chay Blythes Challenge events, no previous sailing experience is required; all you need is ambition, determination, guts and good health.

A place on Team Global costs around 23,000 which can be a life changing amount of money. By teaming up with Sail 4 Cancer the prospect of raising funds need not seem so daunting to those wanting to take on the world of yacht racing and wondering how to fund their passion.
