Dallas Local Non-Profit Receives RadioShack Community StreetSentz Grant
Mentoring Brother 2 Brother, Inc. was among 145 agencies chosen to receive grant money from RadioShack's StreetSentz Community Grants program.
Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) March 21, 2005 -- As part of its continuing effort to improve the quality of life for American's families, RadioShack Corporation has awarded Dallas, TX area based Mentoring Brother 2 Brother, Inc., a Community Grant. Mentoring Brother 2 Brother, Inc., is one of 145 agencies to receive grant money in the latest quarterly cycle of RadioShack's StreetSentz Community Grant program. The program funds worthy causes that help families protect children from abduction, violence and abuse.

Community Grants are accepted year-round and are evaluated quarterly by local review councils coordinated through RadioShack district offices. Grants are awarded quarterly in February, May, August and November.
"The StreetSentz Community Grant" will provide an opportunity for expansion of several community service programs, Mentoring Brother 2 Brother currently has in place, states Tamara Johnson, consultant and current board member of Mentoring Brother 2 Brother. Mentoring Brother 2 Brother provides mentoring, tutoring and leadership skills to the thirty young men currently enrolled in the program. The organization currently has a waiting list, with new enrollments anticipated for Fall 2005.
To be considered for a Community Grant, an organization must be a tax exempt nonprofit designated as a 501(c)(3) by the IRS, offer solutions to help prevent family violence/abuse and/or child abduction, and directly impact or benefit, through programs or services, a RadioShack community. Grant requests should be limited to $500 or less.
