Moms Classifieds -- The Classified Ad Website for Moms
The new website designed with moms in mind will launch March 23rd!
(PRWEB) March 21, 2005 -- Moms Classifieds (www.momsclassifieds.com) is a "mom-to-mom" convenient and inexpensive alternative to newspaper classified ads and the big auction websites. With the cost of print advertisements far too expensive and the prevalence of professional sellers dominating the big auction website, Tony and Torey McCullough felt there was a need to provide another alternative to individuals, especially moms, with items to sell.
Various Moms Clubs, service organizations, and other clubs across the country offer small ads in their local newsletters. The McCulloughs wanted to provide families like theirs the convenience of web access, national exposure and the ability to post photos with their classified ads
Moms Classifieds is open to Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents -- almost anyone with something to buy or sell. Standard text and photo ads are free. Nominal charges are required to place multi-photo, feature, and longer term feature ads to cover operating expenses. In addition to providing a family friendly place to buy and sell, the McCulloughs also donate a portion of all paid ads to benefit breast cancer research.
About Moms Classifieds
Moms Classifieds is the brainchild of Torey McCullough; the mother of toddler twins with way too much stuff. When my husband and I met, we had two of everything -- two houses, two dogs, two coffee pots. When the guys, were born, we found that we really needed two of almost everything. When we purchased a second storage shed to store some of the stuff the guys had outgrown for a future yard sale, we said enough is enough".
Discouraged by the cost of placing a classified ad in the local newspaper, frustrated with her experiences on auction sites, and with no time to plan and organize a yard sale with two toddlers, Torey enlisted the help of her husband Tony, a network administrator, in creating Moms Classifieds. Once I started comparing notes with other moms on what they were doing with their stuff, Tony and I decided that launching a site was the easiest thing for us to do", Torey stated. This way several of us could sell our stuff through the site without going bankrupt placing classified ads. Originally, Moms Classifieds was going to be a resource for our friends and local Moms Club, but the idea grew and took a life of its own with the more people we talked to, and the more and more people said 'oh, I want to sell some stuff too!"
