Jose De La Cruz Biography

Darrin Henson, the choreographer for Britney Spears, NSYNC, JLO, Darrin’s Dance Grooves says of Jose "He's one of the hardest working dancers in the world."

"I've seen him before, he's on my wall." Thousands of dancers have said this to themselves when they've seen Jose in person or pictures of him. From Dance Spirit Magazine, Dance Europe, Dance Magazine, etc. Jose De La Cruz has appeared in them all as the model for BLOCH. Fusing hiphop/jazz/funk and ballet dance with punk/rock/alterative music, Jose has created a style of dance uniquely his own.

Dancing on the Family Value Tour, Jose De La Cruz became known as "Punkdanzer." The Family Value Tour artists have included Korn, Prodigy, Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots, Staind, Limp Bizkit, etc.

Jose De La Cruz has choreographed in Taiwan for Nike Corp, France for Disney Animation/La Manufactures Aurillac Festival, Razor’s launch of their new Pogo Stick in NYC at FOA Schwartz, Fitness Quest’s launch of the Bosu at the Super Show in Las Vegas and also has cast dancers for The Today Show's Bally Pink Workout, Chase Banks Job Fair, National Motorcycle Convention in New York, and dance clubs around the world.

Jose has taught workshops/classes at The Broadway Dance Center in New York, Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, Bally's/Crunch Fitness, Europe for Prague’s Nokia Dance Awards, Mexico’s Ribbons Dance Festival, Israel’s National Dance Convention at the University of Israel and other top universities around the world.

Jose De La Cruz continuously works with Chezzam Entertainment/Zenith Pyro, the company that creates the special effects for Television (WWF, MTV Awards), Stage (VH1 Diva’s Live, Radio City New York).

HIPHOP/FUNK

This is a hot dance class mixed with street, funk, and hip-hop. Students should have a basic understanding of the hip-hop technique/style. The warm-up is designed to strengthen the student’s ability to adopt funky movement and then moving on to a dance routine
