Air Tanker Market Assessment Outlines Targets For Commercial Opportunities

The world-wide tanker situation is in flux. Global air-to-air refueling efforts center largely on the actions and capabilities of the U. S. Air Force, Royal Air Force, and to a lesser extent, the Royal Australian Air Force, largely due to the cost of maintaining tanker fleets.

(PRWEB) March 22, 2005 -- A recent worldwide aerial tanker market assessment performed, by Corcoran Associates, confirms that as the U. S. military redefines its strategic goals, the concepts of expeditionary forces, force projection, and deployable assets will rise to the top of the priority list. These strategic changes will increase the demand for aerial tankers in any future crisis or military response.

The assessment also identified nations where a market clearly exists for alternative, less costly means of providing tanker assets, including leased commercial airframes. Many United States, United Kingdom, and world-wide tanker missions do not involve war zones and combat risk. These are samples of missions that may be better served, from an economic stand point, by commercial assets.

So, the question from industry: "Does this present a commercial opportunity?" states Jerry Corcoran, Managing Partner for Corcoran Associates.
