The USO and Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE) will soon deploy Adema on the groupÂs first tour to entertain troops stationed in the Persian Gulf. The modern rock band, consisting of newly recruited lead singer Luke Caraccioli, guitarist Tim Fluckey, bassist Dave DeRoo and drummer Kris Kohls, will perform free shows and Âmeet and greet troops stationed at a number of locations in the region.
Adema's upcoming tour of the Persian Gulf holds special meaning for Caraccioli: ÂTo know the feelings they have being on deployment, being away from their families and being cut off from society, and now to be able to do this for them, it makes me extremely happy, he says.
The quartet, based in Bakersfield, Calif., released its self-titled debut in 2001. The album garnered critical acclaim and the Top 15 Modern Rock track ÂGiving In. In 2002, the group recorded ÂImmortal for the Mortal Kombat®: Deadly Alliance video game, which introduced them to a new audience. Their 2003 release, ÂUnstable, was another critical and commercial success as well as a delight to their fans. Most revered for their live shows, the bandÂs songs feature honest lyrics and a unique rock sound.
This tour continues the USO/AFE mission to bring celebrity entertainment to the Âfront lines. Recent tour participants traveling to the Persian Gulf region include Robin Williams, James Gandolfini, Toby Keith, Colin Quinn, David Letterman, Henry Rollins and Wayne Newton.
AdemaÂs debut album for Earache Records, ÂPlanets, will hit stores in the United States on April 5, 2005 and stores in Europe on April 11, 2005.
