Youre Hired! The Mobile Apprentice Search 2005 is Underway: AirG Partners with Local Vancouver Students to Expose Canadas Mobile Game Developer Talent

AirG, the global leader in wireless gaming has partnered with Simon Fraser University, a local Vancouver, Canada university, to host a mobile game development competition. Students will compete for a cash prize and opportunity to have their winning mobile application launched on a Canadian mobile carrier.

VANCOUVER, CANADA (PRWEB) March 24, 2005 -- The next mobile game to take the wireless world by storm could be one created by Vancouvers very own student developers. AirG, the global leader in wireless gaming and the SFU (Simon Fraser University) EUSS (Engineering Undergraduate Student Society) have partnered to host the Mobile Apprentice Search 2005. The competition gives students the opportunity to see their hard work pay off and get their mobile application in the hands of mobile customers across Canada.

Building on the success of The AirG and Seneca College Mobile Development Competition 2004, AirG is delighted to be partnered once again with a student organisation to help bring the next great mobile game to market," said Vincent Yen, Director, AirG. Working in small teams the students are tasked with completing the design and implementation of an original mobile entertainment application. The games will be judged based on their originality, commercial feasibility, how good they look and how well they play. The submission process will be managed by the SFU EUSS and all judging will be conducted by AirG.

The Mobile Apprentice Search 2005 is open to SFU undergraduate students from the Engineering, Computer Science, and Interactive Arts & Technology programs. The winning team will be awarded a cash prize, have their application launched on a Canadian carrier, and get the opportunity to join the rapidly growing AirG team where they can help to create some of the most popular mobile entertainment applications in the world.
