"My Barbecue Heroine" is awarded annually at the National Barbecue Association conference to an outstanding woman in barbecue. The 2005 recipient is Donna Johnson of Cookshack, Inc., manufacturer of smoker ovens and pits.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) March 28, 2005 -- Donna Johnson, Cookshack Vice President, was named as the 2005 recipient of the My Barbecue Heroine award at the National Barbecue Associations annual conference in Houston, Texas.
The award was started by Caroline Wells, well-know for her role in the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Winners have included Ruthie Knote, cookbook author; Kathy Murphy, caterer; Lynn Shivers of the International Barbeque Cookers, and Carlene Phelps, former publisher of the National Barbecue News. The winner is chosen by the previous years Barbecue Heroine.

Ms. Johnson, who is a co-owner of Cookshack, has handled the companys marketing for over 25 years. She lives in Norman, Oklahoma, with her husband, son and assorted dogs, cats and rabbits.
