The Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame invites you to its 2nd Annual Induction Ceremony Friday April 8, 2005 at the Sheraton Society Hill. Join Philadelphia sports legends Tommy McDonald, Ed Snider, John Chaney, Jay Sigel, Vic Seixas, Bob Levy, Harvey Pollack and Bill Campbell as they are honored for their contribution to Philadelphia sports. Also honored is the 1954 LaSalle NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship team, the first team inducted into the Hall of Fame. Joining the festivities will be members of last year’s Charter Class including Bernie Parent, Joe Frazier, Chuck Bednarik, Paul Arizin and Sonny Hill. The event features Master of Ceremonies Pat Williams, former General Manager of the 76ers and current Vice-President of the Orlando Magic.

Join the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Foundation in honoring some of the greatest athletes in Philadelphia history. The ceremony will take place on April 8th, 2005 at the Sheraton Society Hill, beginning with a silent auction at 5:30 PM. Attending inductees include Tommy McDonald, Ed Snider, John Chaney, Jay Sigel, Vic Seixas, Bob Levy, Harvey Pollack and Bill Campbell, along with members of the 1954 LaSalle NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship team, the first team inducted into the Hall of Fame. Also joining the festivities will be members of last year’s Charter Class including Bernie Parent, Joe Frazier, Chuck Bednarik, Paul Arizin and Sonny Hill.

These Philadelphia sports legends will be honored during the 2nd Annual Induction Ceremony featuring Pat Williams (former 76ers General Manager, current Senior Vice-President of the Orlando Magic) as Master of Ceremonies. Phil Martelli, head basketball coach of the St. Joseph’s Hawks, is scheduled as special guest speaker. Other honorees include Charles Barkley, Carl Lewis, Cathy Rush, Joe Verdeur, Guy Rodgers, James “Jumbo” Elliott, Pete Pihos, Lefty Grove, Eddie Gottlieb and Grover Cleveland Alexander.

The evening, the Foundation's main fundraiser, consists of a cocktail reception, a silent auction of sports memorabilia, an opportunity to meet the inductees, dinner, and the induction ceremony itself.

Founded in May, 2002, the Sports Hall of Fame Foundation serves to preserve and promote the rich history of Philadelphia sports, and honor those athletes, coaches, teams, organizations, fans, events and venues that have brought great pride and glory to the city.
