"Ham for the Holidays" Song by Lynn Julian Receives Honors in the Great American Song Contest
Augusta, Me. resident, Lynn Julian, wears many hats. She's performed songs as a snake, a fruitcake, and now a young turkey. Her orignal tune, "Ham for the Holidays," sung by Julian as little "Tommy" turkey, received international recognition when it won Honors in this years' Great American Song Contest. Tommy couldn't be more proud... Hear this song today at Http://www.Broadjam.com/LynnJulian.
(PRWEB) March 25, 2005 -- Augusta resident, Lynn Julian, was commissioned by the "Trouble With Turkey" coalition to compose the themesong for their latest campaign. Their spokesperson is Tommy, a ten year old turkey, who is trying to educate humans about alternatives to their typical holiday feast this season: HIM. The focal point of the awareness campaign is HAM: its juicier for roasting, turkeys dry. They hope Julian's theme song, "Ham For The Holidays," will help folks remember this fact. Dr. Demento loved the tune so much he brought international attention to the song when he played it 2 weeks in a row during the 2004 holiday season. This was a tremendous honor, as Julian's indie song was played between big name artists Adam Sandler and Arlo Guthrie. Julian recently also received international recognition when her song won Honors in this years' Great American Song Contest. This artist feels SO strongly about her conviction that she has made the theme song track #1 on her upcoming CD due out this Fall, "Ham for the Holidays." Please give this song, and this international issue oppressing all turkeys, the attention that it deserves by listening to it and sharing it with friends and family this holiday season. Its a catchy little number we just *know* youre going to love. Hear it now at: Http://www.broadjam.com/LynnJulian
Currently, Julian is concentrating on promoting her just released concept CD, "Cookie Cutter Girl," about her Super Hero alter ego of the same name, who is freeing women everywhere from the mold in which society holds them captive. Self-produced through her record label, Cookie Cutter Records, the CD is full of "Power pop with a punch." It consists of twelve tracks that tell the story of the birth of "Cutter," and will be accompanied by a Comic Book story of her adventures. Julian is CO-writing the comic with Sonic Comics' Ron and Justine Fontes. It will be drawn by Ron, who is the ex-art director for Marvel Comics. Julian also CO-produced, arranged, wrote and performed on all songs on the album. Spending countless hours each week researching promotional ideas, she is a perfect example of an independent artist, that has branded herself and is motivated to sell her own merchandise. Look for her CD, "Cookie Cutter Girl," on her website, CDBaby.com and in retail stores.
You can find her performing currently in Maine venues and her songs, like 'Jenny' and 'Get the Picture,' are getting rave reviews. A goal for Julian and "Cookie Cutter Girl" is to harness her "Guitar Rock with girl power" to help women be their own hero. Ask yourself, "Am *I* a "cookie cutter" girl... or did I "break the mold!"
