The Armed Forces Let Freedom Sing
Members of the Armed Forces "Task Force Glory" Choir enter international gospel music competition.
(PRWEB) March 26, 2005 -- The Armed Forces are not all work and no play. Staff Sergeant Demeko Marshall and 2nd Lieutenant Keona McNair, deployed at Kirkuk Freedom AB, Iraq, have put together the "Task Force Glory Gospel Choir" and soldier Jessica Brooks entered them to be considered for an "American Gospel Music Award". Choir member Jessica Brooks saw the ad for auditions on the "Detroit Gospel" website and called the number listed. She was calling the home of AGMA president Deborah Stewart. "At first I thought Jessica was playing when she asked if we come to Iraq to hold audtions", she says. But then the conversation turned serious as she realized Jessica was indeed calling from Iraq, and wanted to inquire about entering her choir to be considered for an award in this years AGMA.
AGMA sponsor "Custom Poetics", a custom poetry company, sent Jessica and the troops a poem to express our support for their sacrifices.
The AGMA is an award given to the best undiscovered gospel/Christian talent and industry professionals. This years special recipients are author and political speaker "Tony Brown". Special guest performance will be by "SCAT", a Christian Jazz band from Australia.
