Mobile Design Technologies, Inc. company focused on healthcare that provides physicians with mobile technology solutions to capture charge charges at the point of care, announced today that the Heart and Vascular Institute of Florida has selected and will deploy the MD Coder Enterprise Server System in April of 2005 - providing their physicians an enterprise charge capture solutions which will further their mobile strategy to address their charge capture needs.
MD Coder ES will replace HVIF's traditional paper trail with an electronic charge capture application that can be utilized on both the Pocket PC device as well as from any web browser. MD Coder ES recently added its proprietary drill mechanism from the handheld to the web interface, which allows users to utilize several different form factors when capturing charges. The drilldown mechanism allows providers to capture charges in the same drilldown fashion on the web via a browser or a touch screen in or out of their office; simultaneously uploading in real time to their billing system. "Taking the handheld interface for capturing charges and adding it to the web has given our users a choice that they didn't have before: adding charges on the Palm, Pocket PC, Blackberry and from any and all devices that have an internet browser. This has dramatically changed how MD Coder can and will be used," exclaimed Mark Janveaux, CTO of Mobile Design Technologies, Inc.
HVIF will provide MD Coder to all of their providers, enabling their providers to capture charges at several of the Hospital facilities that they round on specifically Bay Care and Bay Front of St. Petersburg and synchronize those charges via their Dell Axim's v50 in real time to the back office in a wireless environment. "We expect to see a dramatic increase in our charges captured in the inpatient setting and, more importantly, eliminating the paper fee sheets. After performing a six month evaluation of all the vendors, Mobile Design Technology's MD Coder was the clear winner. A strong presence in the marketplace, strong evangelistic customer referrals and a product that has proven to work with our revenue cycle management efforts to reduce paper, reduce errors, increase our capture rate while decreasing our lag time of submitted charges and dramatically reducing our percentage of denied claims were a few of the reason we selected MD Coder," said TJ Borschel, CEO of Heart and Vascular Institute.
For HVIF to select MD Coder is just another signal from the marketplace that MD Coder charge capture is here to stay. Working with another specialty group demonstrates that MD Coder has been well thought out in its direct support for over 22 specialties. We look forward to our increasing presence along the Eastern seaboard and look forward to a long lasting relationship with HVIF and the facilities they support within the community", stated Damon Spiegel, CEO, of Mobile Design Technologies.
