Cutting Edge Technology Firm To Give A One-Day Intensive Seminar

This hands-on workshop entitled Software Protection Evaluation Course (SPEC) is designed to educate software developers on ways to circumvent common software protection mechanisms to better understand how to secure against software tampering.

This hands-on workshop entitled Software Protection Evaluation Course (SPEC) is designed to educate software developers on ways to circumvent common software protection mechanisms to better understand how to secure against software tampering.
The SPEC is appropriate for individuals ranging from the seasoned software engineer to any student/faculty involved in software development. This event is geared towards students and faculty who have interest in software security," said Dr. Wayne Zage, Director of the Software Engineering Research Center (SERC). The SPEC focuses on software security, providing insider knowledge on how to use software protection mechanisms in ways that will offer cost-effective solutions to real-life applications."
The SPEC will challenge attendees to analyze real-world security flaws and develop appropriate solutions. Not only will attendees learn how open source tools and their applications can breech most security mechanisms, but also creatively solve security issues from start to finish.
As an added educational element, tools that are demonstrated and discussed will be given away as software bundles for all participants to keep. Attendees will receive comprehensive technical documentation along with the Tools CD-ROM while having an opportunity to network with peers in the industry.
