With Hail Season Looming and Automobiles in Danger, Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)Technicians Converge in Orlando, FL for the Fourth Annual International Dent Olympics.

The 2005 International Paintless Dent Repair "Dent Olympics" were held in Orlando, FL in January as part of the Mobile Tech Expo. Contestants from around the world competed in an effort to be ranked the best Paintless Dent Repair technician in the world.

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) March 26, 2005 -- The fourth annual International Dent Olympics was held during the Mobile Tech Expo in Orlando, Florida January 21st & 22nd 2005. Paintless Dent Repair specialists from around the world attended and competed in an attempt to be ranked number one.

The horrible damage caused by hail storms and unsightly dents and dings from shopping carts, car doors and even golf balls have always been a problem for individual auto owners, but especially car and truck dealerships. The traditional repair methods of body shops are expensive and time consuming. Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is an alternative repair process that removes minor dents and dings from automobiles without the use of fillers, putty or paint. The major benefits of PDR are that the repairs can often be done on-site, normally cost much less than a body shop and usually take less than an hour.

The purpose of the Dent Olympics is to bring about an industry standard, to help educate PDR technicians and recognize technicians internationally, for outstanding achievement in the PDR industry. This years competition welcomed the largest group of international attendees yet. Competitors traveled from Thailand, Japan, Mexico, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Holland, England and The Netherlands to compete against the best in the United States.

Contestants were given 45 minutes to repair a large dent of the same size and diameter to the best of their ability. They were then judged on a number of factors, with the perfect score of 100 points being the best. With attendees and competitors from around the world, just to make the top 25 was an accomplishment. Each of the competitors repairs were graded by 5 judges, with extensive background, experience and influence within the auto body and PDR industries.

The top three contestants were as follows:
1st Place- Troy Tarpley, Dent Tricks (Macon, GA) 478 405-8000
2nd Place- Maerk Turkis, Hi-Tech PDR & Autobody (Des Plaines,IL) 847 343-3608
3rd Place- Matt Rolfmeyer, Zing-A-Ding (Oregon,WI ) 608 835-9289

The 2006 Mobile Tech Expo is scheduled for January 13th & 14th 2006 at the Doubletree Hotel & Convention Center at the entrance to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Contestants and participating vendors are encouraged to register early to reserve a spot.
