We promise an evening of fun and fellowship with others with the disease and people who want to see more education, support services and research here in Minnesota. The 2005 Parkinson Association of Minnesota Membership Soiree/Silent Auction will be held Thursday, April 14, 2005 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel Bloomington, in Bloomington, MN.
(PRWEB) March 27, 2005 -- If you or someone you love has Parkinson's disease (PD), then the 2005 Parkinson Association of Minnesota membership soirée could be just what the doctor ordered! We promise an evening of fun and fellowship with others with the disease and people who want to see more education, support services and research here in Minnesota
Attendees will be able to enjoy the music by the Dave Perry Jazz Combo and a comedy hypnosis show by A Touch of Magic while sampling gourmet coffee and desserts and pinot noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley, donated by Raptor Ridge Winery. A written medical update will be distributed.
The Silent Auction has a variety of unique and tempting items up for bid, including:
•Play the radio quiz "Smarter than Staci" on the air during KS 95's "Moon and Staci Show" at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 15
•A social membership at the Minnesota Valley Golf Club
•A Nancy Chakrin giclee matted limited edition print
•Artwork, photography, jewelry and other items made by people with PD.
Parkinson's disease is the nation's second-most common neurological disease, affecting more than one million Americans and at least 20,000 Minnesotans. It is a chronic, progressive illness that causes tremors, muscle rigidity, slowed movement and poor balance. The cause of PD is unknown and there is no cure at this time. The Parkinson Association of Minnesota dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Parkinson's Disease, through fundraising, community-building, advocacy and increasing public awareness.
April is National Parkinson's Disease Awareness month and also the time when the Parkinson Association of Minnesota (PAM) thanks its members for their donations of time and money. You can become a member for a tax-deductible donation of $25 or more at the event.

The Membership Soiree and Silent Auction is sponsored by the Parkinson Association of Minnesota and is open to all current members and individuals who join at the event.
All funds raised by this event will remain in Minnesota to support the thousands of state residents whose lives and families have been touched by PD.
