Other nearby stage locations include the Artist Building at 50 Music Square West, Hall of Fame Lounge Open Mic, Bobby's Idle Hour Guitar Pull and more. "Ring of Fire" host "Keeli" says, "Don't be shy. The Fest is what you make it."
The festivities kick off Friday afternoon and run thru Sunday evening with songwriter performances from the novice to professional. "Many volunteers and the music community pull together to make this happen. We are a grass roots effort," says "Toast" Toalston who is helping provide sound for one of the stages.
Also on Saturday and Sunday an "Open House on Music Row" will be held during the Fest as publishers, recording studios, record labels and other participants will have an open door policy to attendees. You can drop by Parlor Productions (20 # 1's recorded) or Crowe Entertainment to see what part they play in the industry. Maps of office and booth locations will be made available.
Sunday morning is a special Christian music segment hosted by Richard Trest at the Artist Building. Sunday afternoon SongWriter marriages will be administered and finishing out the evening at one of the stages will be hosted by Curt Brewer with Alabama Line and friends show.
"The Fest is not a talent search, song contest or competition," say's Nashville SongWriters Festival founder "Popcorn" Robertson. "Everybody is encouraged to mingle and talk, that's where the music magic really happens. Many surprises await."
For those wanting to refresh their skills prior to the Big Weekend Festival there is a "Writers Retreat" designed especially for all aspects of being a songwriter taught by industry pro's.
Come hear the hit songs of today, yesterday and tomorrow by the writers who wrote them. Food and fun. Families welcome. Spread the word, "The SongWriters are coming."
