“Sing ‘Oh Saratoga!’ to God” is the anthem of a Christian prolife group which will demonstrate in the Albany, NY, area from August 14-18, 2005. The annual event consists of processions to a different abortion clinic each day where participants pray, display graphic signage, and offer women alternatives to abortion. Just as the Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the American Revolution and gave birth to our nation, Oh Saratoga! is believed to be the peaceful turning point in the “culture of death.”

"When we help a pregnant mom to choose life for her child and support her into parenting or adoption, we are demonstrating the love of God," states Marilyn Carroll, a sidewalk counselor whose witness has saved thousands of unborn babies. "Our friendships allow us to share the Gospel by our actions and our words."

Carroll's example is modeled after Jesus Christ who brought his message out of the Temple and into the streets. She and other witnesses of Oh Saratoga! are not waiting for a mobilization of church-goers, political intercession, or repeal of current abortion laws. They hit the frontlines at the clinics and offer the Gospel of Life, not abortion, to pregnant women in crisis.

Beginning three years ago as a local grassroots effort, Oh Saratoga! now attracts scores of people from around the country and from diverse denominations. This “church without walls” includes live music by Richard “Butch” Berget, and prophetic preaching by Catholic priest, Rev. Francis G. McCloskey, and by evangelical minister Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America.

Added this year will be a Beth Din, or “house of judgment,” opposite the New York State Legislature in Albany where the abortion laws of 35 years ago will be symbolically nullified. The last day is culminated with a patriotic flourish on the 1777 battlefield in Saratoga National Historical Park.

Meals and lodging are provided at Pine Grove Campground, a wooded Christian property in historic Saratoga Springs. There, days begin with Bible Study and Catholic Mass and end with worship and fellowship. There are cabins on site and spaces for campers and RVs. Children can safely play in this wholesome environment.
