Red Scream Magazine, the newest entry into the horror genre publication universe, announced today that two weeks before release, they have nearly pre-sold all copies of their debut issue, numbered "0".
"ItÂs utterly unexpected and totally fantastic," said co-publisher and non-fiction editor David R. Williams, "When you could all single issue pre-orders, subscriptions, bookstore orders, distributor orders and copies set aside for promotion and conventions, we are very nearly out of issues. And this two weeks before official release."
"We considered doing a second print run," said co-publisher and fiction editor Richard Moore, "But then decided to invest our time and money into issue 1. Plus by not printing more issues of #0 we will help "early adapters" and collectors by maintaining debut issue value."
Red Scream Magazine calls itself "the only horror magazine that mattters". The focus is on what the publisherÂs call "erotic violence" and each magazine features top gothic, punk and fetish models from the U.S., Canada and the UK, erotic horror fiction by some of the best-known names in the field and articles on independent, underground, and transgressive cinema.
