The Michael Packer Blues Band from New York City and their new CD Bleecker-Bowery are receiving lots of attention these days from radio stations across the country and for that matter the world.
It started last December 2004 when Michael Packer was a guest on WBGO-FM JAZZ 88 "The Blues Hour", with Michael Bourne (New Jersey). From that show things took off. The track "Born in New York City", co-written with blues legend Nick Gravenities has been featured on Blues Deluxe, the nations blues show, and syndicated to over 100 stations across the country and Canada.
"Born in New York City" last week reached #2 in Paris France. It is currenty #12 on the Radio wave published charts for contemporary blues. Bob Dylan's classic "Along the Watchtower" also covered by Packer has received the same attention. This week it is #12 in Paris and is #16 on the Radiowave Monitor publshed charts for contemporary blues.
