WEST PALM BEACH, FL (PRWEB) April 1, 2005
Authentium, the leading developer and integrator of security application toolkits, announced today that its ESP service platform will now support the Network Admission Control (NAC) program, a Cisco-led industry initiative designed to use the network infrastructure to enforce end-point security policy compliance and prevent malicious attacks.
As part of its on-going strategy of supporting industry-wide efforts which bring the most value to customers, Authentium will license the Cisco Trust Agent, a key component of the NAC program and integrate it into future ESP service offerings, helping to enable network administrators to automatically deny access to end users or devices that are non-compliant with an organizationÂs security policies. The functionality will be available to any Authentium customers and partners who have NAC-enabled Cisco networking hardware in their environment.
The NAC program is a key component of the Cisco Self-Defending Network security strategy which helps customers identify, prevent, and adapt to security threats.
ÂCisco is pleased to have Authentium participating in this collaborative industry program, said Russell Rice, director of product marketing in the Security Technology Group at Cisco Systems, Inc. ÂThe Authentium ESP security application service platform participation in the NAC program helps bring an integrated and collaborative approach to endpoint security. This collaboration within the NAC effort will provide IT organizations with a strong toolset for helping to defend against a variety of threats including malicious attacks, adware, system intrusion and spyware.Â
Mr. Ray Dickenson, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Authentium, said the decision to participate in the NAC program with the ESP service platform was a natural move for the company.
ÂOver the past three years we have created an integrated security application vendor network that is second to none. Mr. Dickenson stated. ÂWe believe that our customers will further benefit from this new NAC integration as itÂs a win win for everybody.Â
AuthentiumÂs ESP service-based platform includes multiple threat-mitigation and security policy compliance, including multiple offerings from leading antispyware, antivirus, content filtering, content integrity, and intrusion prevention companies. Developed over a period of five years, the ESP service platform is in daily use at many leading ISPs, including Comcast, Cox Communications, Bresnan Communications, and Metropolis.
