New US Patent #6871608 Upgrading Water Sports and Outdoor Recreation

The US patent and Trademark Office issued a utility patent on the Twin Hull Personal Watercraft" invention that will improve the paddling experience of millions of paddlers worldwide by increasing their stability, comfort and speed, and enable new paddlesports. This invention was developed after years of research in biomechanics, ergonomics, hydrostatics and hydrodynamics.

(PRWEB) April 1, 2005 -- Better Paddling Experience for Millions of Paddlers: The paddling boats using this new technology are more stable than any canoe or kayak, without being wider.

The new boats offer paddling in the Riding position, which is the natural position used in practically all high performance outdoor sports EG biking, motor-biking, horse riding, personal watercraft (PWC), all terrain vehicle (ATV), snowmobiles etc. This is good news for millions of paddlers who suffer from discomfort, fatigue and injuries resulting from sitting in inadequate positions, especially in kayaks. In addition, paddlers in the new boats can also chose to paddle in the two traditional positions- sitting and kneeling. The ability to freely switch between positions adds an important ergonomic factor by enabling the use of different groups of muscles.

The new invention also improves paddling boats speed by efficiently implementing the successful twinhull (catamaran) concept in small, personal boats.

New paddle sports:
In addition, the new invention upgrades paddle sports to the level of land and snow sports by enabling practically anyone to paddle standing in full confidence, which is in fact to practice motorless water skiing.
People can paddle-ski wherever its possible to paddle canoes and kayaks.

An early version of this project attained the semi-finals of the MIT $50K competition. Company website: www.wavewalk.com
